Home. I don’t really need to say much here, I think it is pretty obvious. I love the feeling of home and family; a house full of the smells of homemade bread or cinnamon rolls; or maybe a pot roast slow cooking in the oven. Then there are the children in and out under foot while you are trying to get the food on the table. Once prepared then comes the best part, your shared conversation about the days’ events and dreams for tomorrow as you share a meal, and I do mean share!
When I was growing up, this scenario was the norm for a lot, if not most of us. Not so much any more, I’m afraid. I regret that I did not make this more of a priority in my marriage and raising Heather. Life was always so hectic for us. Take a minute and think about this. Make a commitment to try this at least once. You might be surprised, you might like it and it could become your norm. God will bless your effort to make your family stronger.
Sleep. I am truly grateful for the restorative power of sleep. When plagued by a migraine, sleep is a wondrous thing. I’ve been asleep most of the day just trying to stay still and quiet. It has helped; not gone, but better…enough so I can enjoy….
Football season. Just realized there is an Exhibition Game on tonight. I’ve missed football. Butch just went to the store for football food. Yay! Rats! there goes the carb count.
