The Privilege of Voting.. I voted today in a primary election and wrote about it in an earlier post. But I just want to say again how very thankful I am that I live in a country where I can help choose our government leaders. Be informed…go vote!
Neil Diamond. My instructor at the YMCA this morning put on an old album of Neil Diamond’s. One of my favorites. It played almost the entire class and it was very upbeat and fun to listen to while we worked on these old bones and joints. It brought back a lot of good memories. My favorite song on this album was Forever in Blue Jeans. It’s from his album You Don’t Bring Me Flowers released in 1978.
Thrift Stores. Along the same thought of Forever in Blue Jeans, I love shopping at thrift stores. When I am painting, or up to my eyeballs in clay or glue or whatever other chemical thing I may be using in my art I do not want to be wearing a $45 pair of jeans and a good shirt. I get all my “studio clothes” at the thrift store down the street from me. That is also where I take most of my donations, splitting them between the Hubbard House Thrift Store and the Humane Society Thrift Store, both worthy causes.
