Today I am GRATEFUL for:

Madelyn Rubin. I have a friend from high school who, like me, has reinvented herself after retirement from decades in corporate America.  She is now a photographer and I love what I have seen of her work.

A few weeks ago I decided that I needed a new head shot to use with my art.  All my professional photos were back in those days of the corporate me, not the artist me.

I scheduled a photo shoot with Madelyn a couple of weeks ago.  I think I posted it on here when the shoot took place.  Madelyn suggested that we do a portrait in addition to a head shot and show off some of my pottery.  I went last week and looked at the proofs and picked out a portrait and a head shot.  I got the portrait final yesterday and I am very pleased.  So here is the reveal of what will be used on my art blog and any and all marketing materials for “The Art of Faye Johnson-Jones” in the future.

You can see Madelyn’s work at Madelyn Rubin Photography or her wedding photography.  I highly recommend her.  She does great family portraits and some amazing work with pets.  She made me very comfortable and we had a lot of fun during the shoot.

Gilli was so much help with makeup and picking out what I should wear for this shoot.  You are the best sweetie.

Cathy who bred her miniature Australian Shepard and is raising three of the cutest puppies you have ever seen to donate to be trained as service animals. She let me help on Saturday with their first trip out in public to start their socialization.  They really are adorable.

I have the most amazing friends!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for a great day at school.  I am so glad that critique in painting class is over.  Thank you so much that when I fell Sunday it wasn’t any worse than a bruised shoulder. Thank you for such amazing friends. They are kind and giving, sharing and talented.   Please bless those sweet little puppies.  Watch over each recipent of these very special animals.

As always, I love you with all my heart.  Amen.
